Conspiracy or Accident? CIA Files on Oswald Missing from JFK Documents

There must be 100 different theories about who killed JFK. That works to the advantage of the real killers, whoever they may be.

Whatever the truth is, the evidence shows that the Deep State has long done its best to keep the public in the dark by promoting the lone nut gunman theory.

All of the U.S. government’s files on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy are supposed to be released by October 26. But one batch of CIA records on suspected assassin Lee Harvey Oswald has gone missing.

The records were part of a seven-volume file on Oswald held by the agency’s Office of Security. The OS is responsible for protecting CIA property and vetting agency personnel, and maintains a file system independent of the CIA’s Central File Registry. Declassified CIA records show that Volume 5 of the file records existed as recently as 1978.

The disappearance of the records, discovered by JFK researcher Malcolm Blunt, is significant because the Office of Security was the first component of the CIA to open a file on Oswald, an ex-Marine who defected to the Soviet Union in October 1959 and was later charged with killing JFK in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.

The official story that Oswald acted alone is widely disbelieved. President Lyndon Johnson, First Lady Jackie Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, French president Charles DeGaulle, and Cuban leader Fidel Castro all privately concluded that JFK was killed by his political enemies, not by a lone assassin.

As a result, conspiracy theories have proliferated over the years, including President Trump’s bogus claim that Ted Cruz’s father was involved.

New JFK files

The disappearing Oswald file is the latest in a series of remarkable revelations that news organizations have found in long-secret JFK assassination files made public for the first time by the National Archives in July.

WhoWhatWhy reported on documents showing that the mayor of Dallas at the time of JFK’s assassination, Earle Cabell, was a CIA asset in the 1950s. His brother, Charles Cabell, was a high-ranking CIA official until 1962.

While the documents don’t show that Earle or Charles Cabell had any connection to JFK’s assassination, they do illuminate that the CIA’s extraordinary penetration of domestic American institutions extended to the city where JFK was killed. If anyone had said over the last 50 years that the mayor of Dallas in 1963 was a CIA asset, they would been derided as a conspiracy theorist. Now we know for a fact that he was.

Ian Shapira of the Washington Post plumbed the new records to recount the secret interrogation of Yuri Nosenko, a KGB intelligence officer who defected to the United States in 1964. Nosenko was detained without charges for four years in what would now be called a CIA black site.

The Nosenko affair (celebrated by HBO) was a key chapter in the CIA’s reaction to JFK’s assassination. James Angleton, the powerful chief of counterintelligence, suspected Nosenko had been dispatched by the KGB to conceal the Soviet ties to Oswald and the assassination. The interrogation of the “foul traitor” Nosenko failed to confirm Angleton’s conspiracy theory, according to the Post.

Writing for Politico, professor Larry Sabato and journalist Philip Shenon reported that one new CIA file showed that in the mid-1970s, one of Angleton’s top lieutenants came to doubt the Warren Commission’s finding that JFK was killed by Oswald, alone and unaided. Sabato and Shenon argue that the JFK investigation was “botched” and the possibility of a Cuban government involvement was ignored.

On AlterNet, I quoted extensively from the same records to show that the JFK investigation was not so much botched as “controlled’ by top CIA officials, including Angleton. The CIA made at least four false statements to investigators. The effect of these statements was to conceal what top CIA officers, including Angleton, knew of Oswald while JFK was still alive.

Collectively, the new JFK files pour more cold water on the “KGB did it” conspiracy theory, while encouraging questions about the “Castro done it” theory. Mostly, the new files illuminate how the CIA resisted investigation of Oswald after JFK was killed, and why the public, and CIA officials themselves, came to reject the official story of a lone gunman.

Officials of the National Archives have told AlterNet they will release thousands of pages of additional secret JFK records before October 26.

FBI Refutes CIA’s Fuzzy Claims of Russian Influence on Presidential Election

What should be frightening to everyone is that rogue elements in the United States government clearly wish to see Donald Trump removed from the presidency before he ever takes the Oval Office.

At least with JFK, they had the decency to wait a while before removing him.

The good news for us is that the politicized institutions of government are not all on the same page. I infer there are some in government still devoted to the idea of a Constitutional Republic rather than a globalist empire.

#noworldwar3. I don’t know if that’s a Twitter hashtag, but if not it should be.

Since election day, Democrats have engaged in a panicked attempt to leverage their last couple of weeks in control of the executive branch to delegitimize the Trump presidency. Obama has even gone so far as to order a “full report” on Russian tampering in the 2016 election cycle to be completed before he leaves office (see “A “Soft Coup” Attempt: Furious Trump Slams “Secret” CIA Report Russia Helped Him Win”). Of course, we should simply ignore the fact that a true investigation of such allegations would take much longer than the one month that Obama has left in office because any delay could run the risk of a bipartisan/independent review and that’s just not how the Obama administration plays the game.

But at least one investigative agency, the FBI, isn’t buying the “fuzzy and ambiguous” assertions from the CIA that Russia “quite” clearly meddled in the U.S. elections on behalf of the Trump campaign. Meanwhile, the FBI’s unwillingness to play along is infuriating Democrats. Per the BizPac Review:

The FBI did not corroborate the CIA’s claim that Russia had a hand in the election of President-elect Donald Trump in a meeting with lawmakers last week.

A senior FBI counterintelligence official met with Republican and Democrat members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in order to give the bureau’s view of a recent CIA report. The official did not concur with the CIA, frustrating Democrats.

The CIA believes Russia “quite” clearly intended to send Trump to the White House. The claim is a bold one and concerned Democrats and some Republicans who are worried about Trump’s desire to mend relations with an increasingly aggressive Russia. The CIA report was “direct, bold and unqualified,” one of the officials at the meeting told The Washington Post Saturday.

The FBI official was much less convinced of the claims, providing “fuzzy” and “ambiguous” remarks.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post also points out that the whole disagreement likely comes down to “cultural” differences between the FBI and CIA. Apparently the FBI “wants facts and tangible evidence to prove something” while the CIA is “more comfortable drawing inferences.”

Well, that certainly seems reasonable…who needs “facts and tangible evidence” when the CIA can just “draw inferences”…they’re supposedly really smart so we should probably just believe them.

Muh Russians is a psy op intended to either disempower Donald Trump or set him up for impeachment and/or assassination.

These are dangerous times. Be alert to how these psy ops play out. Things just keep getting uglier and uglier and whether it all leads to World War 3 no one can say.

The left is willing to risk civil war in America & nuclear war with Russia because they’re butt-hurt about losing.

Let that sink in.

Louise Mensch, the publisher of fake conservative/libertarian website Heat Street, is pushing for war with Russia. When she’s not doing that, she’s obsessed with denying Trump the presidency by claiming he’s a Russian spy.

Fox News is piling on Trump too. They want him to resign the presidency before the inauguration.

Crafty Putin Banning Microsoft Products from Government Offices in Russia

Bill Gates. The USA isn't good enough for him. He wants a single government ruling the world. With him as KING???

Why wouldn’t any government prefer it’s own software to often dodgy products put out by Microsoft? Lots of people prefer an Apple operating system or Linox to Windows.

Russia is going them one better and developing in-house software immune from American government spying.

As you read this article, you’ll see that it’s short on facts and long on anti-Russian propaganda.

NBC News

In his battle with the United States, Vladimir Putin has a new target — Microsoft.

The Kremlin is backing a plan to rid government offices and state-controlled companies of all foreign software, starting with Moscow city government replacing Microsoft products with Russian ones, according to a senior U.S. intelligence official.

The Russians have also moved toward blocking LinkedIn, the U.S.-based networking site that Microsoft is in the process of buying. The company is appealing an injunction, with a decision expected Nov. 10.

The intelligence official said Putin is going after Microsoft because it is the biggest American name in information technology and because it’s easy to convince Russians that the company works with the U.S. intelligence community.

Russia is also bracing for the U.S. to retaliate for months of hacking attacks that Washington says were authorized by Putin and designed to influence the American electoral process.

“They are obviously stepping up their game,” Fiona Hill, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

“It is a signal that the Russians really mean business now about nationalizing the internet and making sure they can create their own secure content.”

Microsoft told NBC News it doesn’t collaborate with the government on any spying.

“We don’t spy on anyone. We don’t work with any government to spy on others, and we never would,” said Dominic Carr, Microsoft’s general manager for public affairs.

“We make sure governments can review our software to confirm for themselves that our products are secure. And we’ve worked hard to increase privacy protections for customers including by suing the US government four times.”

But the Russians are keenly aware that Microsoft products, like any software, can be used as weapons in cyber-warfare. A sensitive U.S. Homeland Security document obtained by NBC News confirms that a Microsoft Office attachment was used by Russian hackers to shut down the Ukraine electrical grid last year.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said he’s not surprised Russia is singling out Microsoft since Russia’s relationship with the U.S. is at “the lowest ebb since the end of the Cold War.”

“Putin as an old KGB officer views the world as a zero-sum game between Russia and the U.S.,” he said. “Whatever is good for the U.S. is bad for Russia and vice versa.”

The move against Microsoft “may also be a way for Russia to signal to its own population we can’t trust American technology — and once again feed into Russian hostility and paranoia towards America and its products,” Schiff said.

“So as part economic message, part a shot across the bow, part attack on American IT, part protectionism … all, I think, very consistent with the kind of escalation we are seeing from Putin.”

If the goal is to deal an economic blow to Microsoft, Putin’s campaign doesn’t appear to be having much of an effect. The company’s stock hit $60 a share on Oct. 21 — an all-time high. U.S. intelligence officials also believe that any attempt to ban Microsoft will be limited because its products are too integrated into Russia’s IT infrastructure.

The anti-Putin propaganda here is subtle, which is the most effective kind. It mentions Russia’s paranoia toward America without mentioning how the American press is fanning the flames of fear of Russia among Americans.

By the way, I doubt that the claim by Microsoft that it does not spy on anyone is true.

Smear Job! Putin Accused of Approving Litvinenko Murder

cool putin5

Putin is guilty, they say.

But nothing has been proved in a true court of law where the accused is present and has the opportunity to answer the charges.

If Putin is a murderer, so is every American president and most leaders of Western countries.

This story softens the public mind to make World War III more acceptable. The West can argue that Putin is a mad man and a murderer and thus had to be removed from power. Even if tens of millions die in the process.

Excerpt from Sky News

Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko was “deliberately poisoned” in an operation “probably” approved by Vladimir Putin, a public inquiry has found.

Sir Robert Owen, the head of the long-running investigation, said it was likely the Russian president signed off the killing of the former spy following a lengthy feud.

In the 300-page report, Sir Robert said Dmitri Kovtun and Andrei Lugovoi were probably acting under the direction of Russia’s FSB intelligence service when they poisoned Mr Litvinenko with radioactive polonium at a London hotel in November 2006.

On his deathbed the fierce critic of the Kremlin, who fled Russia six years before his murder, pointed the finger at Mr Putin – and named former colleagues Dmitri Kovtun and Andrei Lugovoi as the men who poisoned him.

Speaking outside the High Court in London, Mr Litvinenko’s widow Marina said she was “very pleased that the words my husband spoke on his deathbed when he accused Mr Putin have been proved by an English court”.

Happy Birthday, Vlad from your American admirers.

Russian President Vladimir Putin went to Siberia to celebrate his 62nd birthday on Tuesday, as supporters in Moscow hosted a one-day art exhibition, “The 12 Labors of Vladimir Putin,” on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

The paintings depict Mr. Putin as the mythological hero Hercules, recast in modern-day current affairs, from battling Western nations disguised as serpents and monsters to taming an ox bearing the symbol of Crimea, the Ukrainian region annexed by Russia in March.

The president’s approval ratings are currently above 80%. In Moscow, fans sold souvenirs, t-shirts, and other items decorated with Mr. Putin’s face. In Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, thousands of Putin supporters took to the streets on Tuesday dressed in red, white and blue, the colors of the Russian flag.
