Next the Communist agitators will be digging up the bodies of Southerners buried in the cemetary and throwing them in the closest dumpsters.
These ISIS style vandals got what they wanted in this case by making threats. I ask you: Is it time that we start making threats too?
Being nice doesn’t seem to be getting us anywhere. Make your case for or against threats, if you have a notion to talk about that issue.
A Confederate monument in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery will be taken down after some activists threatened to vandalize it, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The report claims that several hundred activists requested the monument — which stands in the Confederate portion of the famous cemetery with over 30 Confederate veterans and their families’ graves — be removed following the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville over the weekend. Right-wing blogger Jason Kessler had called for the rally to protest the city’s decision to remove a Robert E. Lee statue from a downtown park.
According to the LA Times, the monument in the cemetery will be taken to storage “within the next 24 hours, cemetery officials said, but the grave markers will remain.”
The decision by the cemetery comes after similar moves across the country — including in Kentucky, where the mayor of Lexington said he intends to take down two Confederate-era monuments from the city’s courthouse. Similar actions are being called for in states such as Florida, Maryland and more according to a New York Times report
Threats of the sort made here constitute illegal acts. Expecting the police to try to track down the vandals is a worthless thought exercise unless the police are bombarded with calls for action.
