Smiley Mugshot for Fatal DUI Sparks Victim’s Family’s Outrage

Attractive middle-aged white woman Angenette Welk is in bad trouble.

Driving while intoxicated is never a good idea. In Angenette’s case she rear ended a Korean made tin can of a car, which resulted in the death of a 60 year old mother of two. The woman’s children are understandably displeased with Angenette. All the more so because her mugshot shows a certain “I don’t give a sh*t” attitude.

I did some extra research and discovered that Angenette also has a nonsmiling mugshot. Do police take more than one?

The serious Angenette can be seen below.

CBS News

A Florida woman flashed a wide smile in her mugshot – despite driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a woman and injured her daughter, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. CBS affiliate WKMG reports that Angenette Marie Welk may face a DUI manslaughter charge after the accident in Marion County last week.

Troopers say Welk was driving her 2011 Chevrolet Avalon when she rear-ended a Hyundai Elantra, sandwiching that car between Welk’s sedan and a tractor-trailer, according to the crash report.

WKMG reports that the driver of the Elantra, 18-year-old Shiyanne Kroll, suffered minor injuries, but her mother, 60-year-old Sandra Clarkson, who was the passenger, suffered critical injuries and died days later.

The truck driver was not injured.

Records show that Welk’s blood alcohol content was .172 – more than twice the legal limit, WKMG reported.

Here’s the non-smiling mugshot. I have no idea why there are two mugshots of Welk.

      • Yeah but alcoholics kill more people then potheads who drive stoned is what I was getting at, obviously any form of DUI is bad but drunk driving accidents far outweighs the other

      • If anyone in an accident and has alcohol in their blood, it will be blamed whether it had anything to do with the accident or not.

  1. Maybe she was tricked by the camera operator who told her to smile. She was drunk and did not know the danger of smiling like this on camera. Why did the cops release this picture to the public? I would think that smiling is prohibited with mugshots just as with passport and driving license photos.

.172 is a very high reading, 3 /12 times the limit where I come from.

Why was she forced to wear humiliating orange striped clothing when she has not yet been convicted? This makes the accused look guilty, especially to a jury.

    • They probably said “Wow you’re beautiful, this will be the best mugshot we’ve ever taken”. She automatically blushed and smiled, and they got the goods.
      Never trust the cops. Ever.

    • I noticed that whenever the media says Mr X was 3.5 times over the limit, the next thing they say is “we need to lower the limit”.

Someone under the limit causing an accident is a reason to lower the limit. Someone 3.5x over the limit is not a reason to lower the limit. But try telling that to humanity these days. A futile effort at best.

  2. she drove drunk. she killed a mother and injured her daughter and you’re quibbling about her wearing orange striped clothing? bitch should be executed.

    • Hey I hope you are not on the jury. She has not been tried yet. How do you know she was the driver? I agree that it is highly likely. The drunken 0.172 test is also not yet proven in court.

    • Probably died of whiplash at 15 mph.
Old people are very fragile. Never punch one. It will be murder by the time they hit the deck.

  3. When are they going to do something about trucks with decks that slice into any car driving into them?
These things are lethal, and that’s what might be the real cause of death in this particular case.
There are so many pics on the gore sites of cars running into the back of trucks and the occupants of the car are often decapitated or have their faces mushed up beyond all recognition.
