Sheriff Joe Guilty of Contempt of Court, Facing Six Years in Prison at Age 85

Sheriff Joe Arpaio was an obstacle to the New World Order. He had to be removed in a high profile way. There’s nothing like a contempt of court charge that leads to a trial to achieve that objective.

Numerous efforts to smear the tough on crime lawman had failed in the past. Now, they’ve got the senior citizen exactly where they want him.

CBS News

PHOENIX — Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio was convicted of a criminal charge Monday for refusing to stop traffic patrols that targeted immigrants, marking a final rebuke for a politician who once drew strong popularity from such crackdowns but was ultimately booted from office as voters became frustrated over his headline-grabbing tactics and deepening legal troubles.

The verdict from U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton represents a victory for critics who voiced anger over Arpaio’s controversial efforts to get tough on crime, including jailing inmates in tents during triple-digit heat, forcing them to wear pink underwear and making hundreds of arrests in crackdowns that divided immigrant families.

Arpaio, who spent 24 years as the sheriff of metro Phoenix, skirted two earlier criminal investigations of his office. But he wasn’t able to avoid legal problems when he prolonged his signature immigration patrols for nearly a year and a half after a different judge ordered him to stop. That judge later ruled the policies racially profiled Latinos.

The lawman who made defiance a hallmark of his tenure was found guilty of misdemeanor contempt-of-court for ignoring the 2011 court order to stop the patrols. The 85-year-old faces up to six years in jail, though attorneys who have followed the case doubt that someone his age would be incarcerated for this crime.

Critics hoped Arpaio’s eight-day trial in federal court in Phoenix would bring a long-awaited comeuppance for a lawman who had managed to escape accountability through much of his six terms.

Prosecutors say Arpaio violated the order so he could promote his immigration enforcement efforts in an effort to boost his 2012 re-election campaign and even bragged about his continued crackdowns.

He had acknowledged prolonging his patrols but insisted it was not intentional.

He blamed one of his former attorneys in the profiling case for not properly explaining the importance of the court order. His defense also focused on what his attorneys said were weaknesses in the court order that failed to acknowledge times when deputies would detain immigrants and later hand them over to federal authorities.

Unlike other local police leaders who left immigration enforcement to U.S. authorities, Arpaio made hundreds of arrests in traffic patrols that sought out immigrants and business raids in which his officers targeted immigrants who used fraudulent IDs to get jobs.

The efforts are similar to local immigration enforcement that President Trump has advocated. To build his highly touted deportation force, Mr. Trump is reviving a long-standing program that deputizes local officers to enforce federal immigration law.

Arpaio’s immigration powers were eventually stripped away by the courts and federal government.

The contempt-of-court case marked the first time federal authorities had prosecuted Arpaio on a criminal charge, though his office had been the subject of past investigations.

Federal authorities had looked into Arpaio’s misspending of $100 million in jail funds and his criminal investigations of political enemies. Neither investigation led to prosecution of the sheriff or his employees.

Arpaio’s criminal charges are believed to have contributed heavily to his crushing defeat in November to little-known retired Phoenix police Sgt. Paul Penzone.

Arpaio was ousted in the same election that sent Mr. Trump to the White House. Mr. Trump used some of the same immigration rhetoric that helped make Arpaio a national figure in the debate over the U.S.-Mexico border.

I expect Sheriff Joe to appeal his conviction. I think he can remain free on bond while the conviction is appealed, a process that could take a year or two.

  1. The case was in a federal district court? If there’s ever been a time for Trump to take out the pardon pen, this is it. I’d sign that thing right now, without even waiting for the sentencing hearing.

  2. I lived in Phoenix in the early 2000s. It is typical of all big cities now. It is run and administered by jews and libtards. The spics have gained a lot of power too. White guys like Sheriff Joe are a dying breed. Pretty soon, our entire nation will be run by niggers, spics, gooks, and jews. We will have to fight them and exterminate them to maintain our country. It is that or else we will end up suiciding like Europe. Most stupid YT’s are clueless about this.

    • Spot on, Hammer. A very strong case can be made that Arpaio’s methods were effective. However, the destroyers of civilization you name don’t care about crime reduction. In fact, they want more crime and chaos, so long as it’s coming from blacks and browns.

      • FYI, not a complaint, but this Joe Arapaio article did not show up in your twitter feed, yet Henry tweeted it somehow “1 hour ago” which is how I saw it. Your last tweet says 5 hours ago re the Jewish Professor who wants someone to shoot Trump.

(I did clear cache, cookies, history, etc., but it still does not show the Sheriff Joe tweet/article.)

    • This makes me so sad & mad! Another retard libtard female judge! (there’s another one in a story over at FOTM blog who stopped cold Arkansas’ new laws passed re abortion bans).

My first thought, same as you guys, was POTUS should pardon Sheriff Joe ASAP! Don’t let him spend one more day on this hassle. How cruel to pick on an elderly man who was a great sheriff. They no doubt hated him also for never letting go of the Obama birth certificate scandal. Joe kept that going for years!

Trump should not only pardon him but GIVE HIM A MEDAL in a CEREMONY dedicated to Arpaio’s decades of “tough love lawkeeping.” Hang in there, Joe!

  3. In a criminal country like the Soviet Union and the USA, good men are jailed and guilty men walk free and even run the Government. One of the first priorities of the Russian Revolution was to free all prisoners. The next was to kill all good people, which went on for more than twenty years. Only the 1941-45 war put an end to the massacre of good people. By 1941 there were very few good and moral people left. That is what happens when Jews run a country. The demographic results last for ever, which is not an accident but a plan.

Jim Traficant was hounded for telling the truth. He also fought criminal raps winning and then eventually spending 7 years in jail on trumped up corruption charges. If there is one thing the Joos cannot stand, it is a Congressman who speaks the truth or a lawman who enforces the law. Traficant even rescued a “Nazi” under the death penalty in Israel – this could never be forgiven, or unpunished. He is now dead after a mystery accident at age 73, after he announced his return to politics.

It is widely known that to obey a criminal order is a crime. Sheriff Joe received such a criminal order from a Federal Court. By disobeying this order and continuing to enforce the law, he behaved as all Germans were expected to during the period 1933-1945. By the judges at Nuremburg, the victors. Joe should use this defence; maybe his lawyers are pretty dopey people.

Susan Bolton should be jailed as should any other judges who gave this Sheriff any instructions to ignore laws and allow crime.

The USA is a Gangsterocracy. These race traitor feminazis, who hate whites and love tinted invaders, are the enforcers. Why are any women needed at all to be judges? Why not men only who do a better job? Why are there any female combat troops, front line police or firemen? Is there a sudden shortage of men? Are there too many males working in the nursing or teaching professions? How about women leave all dangerous jobs and have babies instead?

“men represent 80 per cent of suicides, 93 per cent of workplace fatalities and 98 per cent of deaths on the battlefield. The MRAs put this down to male life being seen as less valuable, more disposable, citing news reports on natural disasters and terrorist attacks in which phrases abound like “100 people were killed, including women and children”.”
“male lives – from military conflict to dangerous jobs – are regarded as more disposable than those of women.”

    • Agree 100 percent. I’m hoping he’ll win on appeal. However, his attorney’s fees have probably amounted to $250,000 or more. An appeal will mean more money out of pocket. I don’t think that gofundme would allow Joe to set up a page for his defense.

    • Robert, re your paragraph re the women, Nikola Tesla noticed the SAME THING a whopping 93 years ago, per an interview he gave in 1924!! That was 20 years before the WW2 put-women-to-work-for-the-war-effort, & 40 years or so BEFORE the feminazis kicked in big time in the 1960s:
Tesla … once said in earlier years that he felt he could never be worthy enough for a woman, considering women superior in every way. His opinion had started to sway in later years when he felt that women were trying to outdo men and make themselves more dominant. This “new woman” was met with much indignation from Tesla, who felt that women were losing their femininity by trying to be in power. In an interview with the Galveston Daily News on 10 August 1924 he stated, “In place of the soft voiced, gentle woman of my reverent worship, has come the woman who thinks that her chief success in life lies in making herself as much as possible like man—in dress, voice and actions, in sports and achievements of every kind … The tendency of women to push aside man, supplanting the old spirit of cooperation with him in all the affairs of life, is very disappointing to me.”

    • Same the World over, Evil is casting it’s shadow ever further enveloping all that is still good. We must, as decent ordinary moral folks join as one to bring it to a halt.

  4. How can any decent white person go through our JUed up JU dictiary system without getting screwed…appears that is a JU diversity law now ..all white people are automatically guilty! Where’s Trumpenstein on this??? He needs to help Sheriff Joe immediately! They can give light sentences for rapists, murderers, pedos ((Jeffrey Epstein)) but don’t you dare try to enforce the law and try to keep our borders safe! Our government is so awful
