Graphic Video: DO NOT use your phone while jaywalking

You probably don’t want to watch this 25 second video, which I saw at GLP. One of the commenters there noted that Asians do this all the time: “Looks like the gook got a super power for a minute. “Oh rook I can fry!”

Thailand – A horrific video circulated online last night showing a woman on a mobile phone getting hit by a car in Chonburi province and her body flying across the road.

The woman, identified as 40-year-old Sudchada Bureepia, survived the accident. She suffered a broken skull and was sent to Phyathai Sriracha Hospital.

Her husband, Prasong, said his wife had taken their daughter to a hospital before walking home, which is when the accident occurred.

Mangkorn Somsut, the driver who hit Suchada, said that he didn’t see the woman, Manager reported. It is not yet know what charges he will face.

The video was widely shared on local media as a reminder for pedestrians to be careful while crossing the road. Though it should also be noted that drivers need to watch for pedestrians at all times.

  1. No sympathy here, 100% her fault. Also she was crossing at an unsafe point, 8 lanes of freeway type traffic. The far side seems to have barricades to stop pedestrians – was she going to climb over them?
