Wall Street banker Cohn moving Trump toward moderate policies

GARY COHN. EX-GOLDMAN SACHS EXEC HAS TRUMP’S EAR.

One presidential adviser becoming a president’s pet after less than 100 days isn’t a definitive development. What we have to be concerned about is whether deportations rise, the wall gets started, Obamacare is replaced, jobs are brought back from overseas, and we see some progress on draining the swamp. There’s also the matter of Steve Bannon’s staying power and ultimate influence on President Trump.

Let’s briefly go down the rabbit hole before considering Gary Cohn’s expanding influence with Trump.

Trump’s abrupt shifts in various policy matters can be explained in a variety of ways, including a simple reality check. However, Trump could be being blackmailed or he could be drugged. A blackmailed and/or drugged president may seem a bit odd, but recall everything that J. Edgar Hoover had on President Kennedy, who was on drugs administered by a Dr. Feelgood. We know not every drug in the CIA’s arsenal.

In a White House marked by infighting, top economic aide Gary Cohn, a Democrat and former Goldman Sachs banker, is muscling aside some of President Donald Trump’s hard-right advisers to push more moderate, business-friendly economic policies.

Cohn, 56, did not work on Republican Trump’s campaign and only got to know him after the November election, but he has emerged as one of the administration’s most powerful players in an ascent that rankles conservatives.

Trump refers to his director of the National Economic Council (NEC), as “one of my geniuses,” according to one source close to Cohn.

More than half a dozen sources on Wall Street and in the White House said Cohn has gained the upper hand over Trump’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon, the former head of the right-wing website Breitbart News and a champion of protectionist trade opposed by moderate Republicans and many big companies.

Cohn is a key administration link to business executives and White House sources say he will lead the charge for Trump on top domestic priorities such as tax reform, infrastructure and deregulation.

“Gary’s singular focus is tax reform and he’s working to try and get that done in 2017,” said Orin Snyder, a partner at law firm Gibson Dunn and a long-time friend of Cohn.

“He is working to implement the president’s twin goals of economic growth and job creation. The tax plan will also include a reduction in the corporate rate, but also tax relief for middle- and low-income Americans.”

Some conservatives fear Cohn may push through a tax plan that is unnecessarily complicated and argue that including tax relief for middle- and low-income Americans would not spur economic growth as much as cuts focused entirely or mostly on businesses and entrepreneurs.

Adam Brandon, president of the conservative group FreedomWorks, is disappointed Trump is not charging ahead with a plan unveiled last year during his campaign that would slash taxes on businesses and wealthy individuals.

That plan was shaped heavily by Stephen Moore, an economic policy expert at the conservative Heritage Foundation think tank, who advised Trump’s campaign. But it has since been shelved.

“I don’t like the idea of scrapping it and starting over again,” Brandon said.

A senior administration official said the White House has started from scratch on the tax plan and, while setting business tax cuts as the highest priority, is consulting with lawmakers, economists and business leaders before taking it to the Republican-led Congress.

Two administration officials said reports that the White House was considering a carbon tax and a value-added tax were incorrect, but that other ideas were on the table. “We are considering a multitude of options for tax reform,” a White House official said on Sunday.

RAPPORT

Associates of both Trump and Cohn say the two have developed a bond. People who have worked with Cohn say he is loyal, direct and assertive, traits that Trump likes.

Crucially, Cohn also has the trust of Jared Kushner, Trump’s adviser and son-in-law, and his wife Ivanka, Trump’s daughter.

Cohn hired his staff more quickly than other top officials, building a reputation for competence in an administration hurt by early missteps over healthcare reform and a travel ban, the sources said.

There are over 8,000 comments on this story at Breitbart. Most of them seem pro-Trump.

Recall that if Hillary had emerged victorious, a Ruth Bader Ginsberg clone would be sitting on the Supreme Court and and millions of illegals would be well on their way to citizenship and full voting rights.

  1. Politics is a game of the rich ‘elite’. Think of the nobles who were always jockeying for position around medieval kings of England. The only thing that has changed is the clothing styles. DC is full of John of Gaunts.

  2. Off topic but was watching the White House Easter Egg Roll and The Trumpenfuhrer’s participation. There were thousands of people there. It was a sea of Caucasian faces and an example of what life would be like here in the USA if we were solely Caucasian.

  3. The Trumpenfuhrer is making progress. Things are happening. The jew media down-plays/spikes much of this, thus seeking our news and information from evil YT blogs. Keep the faith. Heil our Glorious Trumpenfuhrer!

  4. Any foreigner, like me, reading this might think that Trump is The Government of the USA. The POTUS now has a lot more power than the King of England did in 1776. Did George Washington anticipate that, or want it? Surely economic and Foreign policies are made by the Congress and ratified by the Senate and POTUS. Not made and reinvented on a whim by a single person who is the Head of State.

I doubt the Founding Fathers ever intended a POTUS to wield so much power in so many areas of life while also ignoring the States. Why is the Congress and Senate needed at all? Cohn and Kushner, both unelected Jews, can create all the policy themselves. The (((owners))) of the USA would be happy with this arrangement.

Anyone who has ever worked for Goldman Sachs should be disqualified from any senior role in any Government, or any senior advisory role, in all countries. In effect and reality (((Goldman Sachs))) rules the world.
In addition no relative of the POTUS should be allowed daily access to the President except the spouse of the POTUS. Even spouse access should be limited to mealtimes and times outisde normal business hours Monday to Friday.
The POTUS is an individual, not a Family like the Mafia.

Trump could learn from QEII. Prince Charles lives in another house and is rarely summoned for an audience. Charles’ children, live in yet another house. It is absurd to think that QEII would want Charles or his spouse advising her, or Prince William or Harry. Ever.
Would Camilla be asked to advise the Queen?
Would the wife of Prince William be asked to advise the Queen?
Do unelected Jews advise the Queen? Probably, yes.
The old have the wisdom. The young have the ambition. Trump is not wise to hire Kushner and Cohn (Larry and Moe). However he was probably ordered to do so and not by Bannon. Whoever ordered Trump to hire Larry and Moe – there is the most powerful person in or out of the United States.

    • This might surprise but most people in the Kwa could give two shytes. Half the people do not vote and there is a 4 trillion dollar economy under the covers.

Most of us regular people do not give a damn. All this antifa crap and WN bogusness is just pure crap. Many of us ‘dumb’ Kwans figured out decades back that our government does not care about us so we in turn just live a fuck it kind of life.

I used to worry about race wars etc. but here is the deal about the Kwa. It is the place where you can do what you want to do. Fascism, Communism whateverism won’t fly here. Ever.

We are unified here in that we all want to do what we want to do.

    • I want to see Trump destroyed. I’m working my fucking ass off screaming at the Daily Stormer crowd to make anti semitism the number one issue. Trump is a kike and a traitor!

  5. Whoever ordered Nixon to hire (((Kissinger))) – there was the most powerful (((person))) in or out of the United States almost 50 years ago. I have never heard (((who))) ordered Nixon to hire that ambitious mass murdering Jew. This is not sort of secret that is never told.
It is impossible to believe that Nixon liked or trusted Kissinger.
Does Trump like and trust Cohn?

  6. “Cohn, a Democrat and former Goldman Sachs banker,”

Okay stop right there. There is no such thing as a “former” GS banker. Once you are GS, the most bloodsucking squid on earth, you are GS forever.

“but he has emerged as one of the administration’s most powerful players in an ascent that rankles conservatives.”

Sadly it only “rankles” instead of ‘positively infuriates’. Oh well…

    “one of my geniuses,”

Good grief the writing is on the wall, is it not?

“but also tax relief for middle- and low-income Americans.””

Mmm yeah okay. 40 years notwithstanding, keep playing that golden oldie.

  7. Is Gary Cohn any relation to the late Jewish gangster & Trump Family Friend Roy Cohn?

(Trying to be humorous in spite of uneasyness re Gary Cohn’s fast “rise to the top.”)

If Bannon ever quits, I hope he does a “tell all.”

      • If Trump still watches as much TV “commentary” by talking heads as he did pre-election,
        this might work:

On the other hand, did Trump ever give 2-seconds of his time to Lewandowski on CNN AFTER he was dumped by Trump?

      • No, I’m pretty sure he has never reached 300k. I remember his “Thanks Everyone” tweets for the 100k & 200k marks > not that long ago, but not a 300k “thanks.” 🙂

Mitchell’s radio show last night was re: Bannon, Cernovich, PJ Watson, + Bob Gray race. Haven’t listened to it, but he tweeted he had a hot mike problem that messed things up for awhile.

(One program I listened to awhile back, you could hear him dividing up or refilling either his meds [lung embolisms] or his vitamins, pills being dropped into containers, lol. I do the same thing w/vitamins, so I know the sound.)

If I listen to his shows I usually catch them via Spreaker/mitchellvii (audio only) rather than at YouTube or Periscope.

      • 24-hours ago:

In a later tweet after that one, he said he was willing to loose 100k followers to get rid of the #TrumpJumpers.

  8. Agree re Periscope being buggy; but good for you for watching or listening.

This from last night 8pm. Who is Posobiec referring to, Hillary?

Trump has said several times, We are Not Going into Syria, so I’m not sure why JP is threatening. (Nudes of McMaster maybe? with Hillary maybe?)

    • I think Moldylocks is the girl who got punched in the face (supposedly she was trying to hit that guy with a bottle, per a tweet w/Reuters photo/link).

But what does that Commie chick have to do with McMaster – Syria – NK ?? How would the one affect the other in sny way?

  9. That’s one reason why I stick with the “old guy,” Mitchell, because the younger ones like JP & MC use too much coded lingo & I don’t always like their hard-a** attitude, either. It must be a Generation Gap.

Speaking of Hillary, even James Woods was mocking Chelsea’s looks.
