Trump Flip-Flops: NATO No Longer Obsolete

What’s wrong with President Trump?

Is he being blackmailed or his family threatened? He’s certainly not the candidate who won the presidency last November.

There are short pieces on each of his recent flip-flops at Zerohedge.

The most visible of the Trump flipping and flopping came Wednesday during a press confernce with the leader of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Sky News

Donald Trump has declared NATO is “no longer obsolete”, saying he is committed to the military alliance.

Before taking office in January, Mr Trump questioned its relevance, saying the organisation, established after World War Two, was “obsolete because it was designed many, many years ago”.

And “the (member) countries aren’t paying what they’re supposed to pay”, he said.

But the President has made a U-turn, describing the alliance as a “bulwark of international peace and security”.

He has again called on alliance members to spend 2% of their GDP on defence within a decade, saying they “must pay what they owe”.

If they “pay their fair share rather than relying on the US to make up the difference, we will all be much more secure”, Mr Trump told reporters after White House talks with NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg.

At a news conference, the President also admitted the US was “not getting along with Russia at all” and relations between the two global powers may be at an “all-time low”.

He said he hoped he can improve ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin but “we’re going to see what happens”.

Relations have become strained over Moscow’s support for President Bashar al Assad, whose Syrian forces allegedly carried out a chemical attack on civilians.

Russia has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution demanding a swift investigation into the attack.

Mr Trump said: “The secretary-general and I had a productive discussion about what more NATO can do in the fight against terrorism.

“I complained about that a long time ago and they made a change and now they do fight terrorism.

“I said it was obsolete, it’s no longer obsolete.”

So far, only five of the 28 NATO members, including the UK, spend 2% of their GDP on defence, but the number is expected to rise next year.

In her column today Ann Coulter theorizes that Trump is like a child hungry for the approval of the liberal media. Another theory I’ve read is that he’s been stuck with a deal that confers foreign policy on the neocons, with him being allowed to conduct domestic policy. We’ve also seen the theory that Jared Kushner controls Trump now.

Whatever, it’s a mystery. When Steve Bannon goes, MAGA is dead.

  1. The USA is not in Europe to protect Europe. The USA is in Europe to occupy and humiliate Germany, for ever. (((Somebody))) has reminded Trump of this fact.
The crafty and pragmatic Germans, like the crafty Japs, do not care very much and spend only 1% of their GDP on their military as against about 100% (lol) by the USA. The money saved, the Germans spend developing better cars and other export products.
While the USA is always looking for new wars and countries to occupy with their military (about 90 right now), the Krauts, Japs and Chinks are looking for new export markets – with success.
The money the USA spends on wars and new weapons, other countries spend on providing free health care fore their citizens and in some cases free education, good pensions and so on.
Except for North Korea the USA must be the worlds most militaristic State, which is odd for a freedom loving, isolationist, democracy.
The USA hates Empires yet has had one since 1898 – while denying this fact.

  2. Dislike bringing up astrology since most don’t believe in it…but, here goes to explain Trump’s odd behavior.

Mercury went retrograde on April 10…goes direct on May 4. Mercury goes retrograde 4 times a year. It rules communications, computers, cars, travel. Expect to see delays, delays, delays, confusion and misunderstandings in conversations, computer problems, and problems with travel. Nothing seems to get off the ground.

Contracts and negotiations will have to be redone and Trump has been involved in a lot the past few days. The effects of Mercury retrograde can be observed about a week before it actually does, in this case, April 10. Notice he was very consistent until the beginning of April, then, as you noticed Paladin…what’s going on with Trump? Don’t expect him to return to stability until May 21 even though Mercury goes direct on May 4. He may then change his mind about a lot of things after this date and everyone will be upset and accuse him of that.

    It affects all of us.

To answer Robert; although, I’m sure he thinks astrology is hogwash…the U.S. IS probably one of the most militant countries since it has Mars in the seventh house that rules foreign affairs and relations with other countries. Mars was named after the Roman God of War. Mars sits next to planet Uranus that rules unexpected, sudden actions. So, bombing Syria is within our character. That is why we are always warring. That won’t change.

For those interested, Mercury retrograde is explained below. Continue scrolling down after the dates.

Lastly, I’d like to see Ann Coulter keep her mouth shut.

    • I thought Trump might be a Scorpio so I looked up his birth date. He is a Gemini. Those very few Geminis I have met tended to be scatterbrained females.
From an astrology website and this is Geminis in general and not Trump, I have cherry picked this little bit….not altered in any way…
“If you have a Gemini friend, life will never be dull. They love to be respected; this is pretty hard because they’re so changeable. In fact, they are often prone to losing their train of thought mid sentence.”

I have no opinion about the minutiae of Astrology but I think there is something in births signs of the Zodiac, based on almost everybody I know fitting the general description of their sign. My own theory is there could be a physical explanation. The nine months we spend in the womb are in different places on the earths long journey around the Sun. Something physical may happen to explain the differences. Cosmic radiation or just radiation form the Sun itself. The earths orbit is not round, so we are closer or further form the Sun depending on those 9 months, and in differing orders. E.g. close at one day old, or far at one day old after conception for two babies born six months apart.

I have met three people with my own birthday and there are some strong similarities in character and personality.

I have no faith at all in astrologers and especially those who write in newspapers. These days they write half a prediction then say call 190044473674 and get the rest of your horoscope for only $1.95 per minute. This is a racket. These people prey on sad, lonely and confused people. So do psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, hypnotists, alternative healers, Dr Phil, self help book authors, cults, religions, TV marketers etc etc.

      • The reason those posted in newspapers are wrong is because there’s much more than your sun sign. There are up to 10 planets (sun signs) that create our personalities and character. Too much to go into here.

I agree with your evaluation of most of the people who prey on “sad, lonely, and confused people.”

  3. I heard today Trump changed his mind on China because it appears they aren’t manipulating their currency since what’s his name was here, but expect China to return to its old ways. Saying he will give China a deal if they help US with N. Korea was not necessarily in our best interest since he constantly complained about losing so much money.

He may regret the bombing when the truth surfaces, if it does.

As far as NATO, he said they are involved with terrorism; which he didn’t know, and did get Merkel’s promise to pay 2% in 100 years or rather 2020.

  4. It’s happening; (((THEY))) are twisting his knickers that he can hardly take a breath. Same with Obambo and his predecessors, Noses were always there, like rats. Aside of Kushner there are plenty of other (((rats))), Jason Greenblatt, David Friedman, Boris Epshteyn, Stephen Miller, Steven Mnuchin, Lewis Eisenberg, Michael Glassner … and who knows how many more. Even his daughter crossed the Rubicon, and he seems quite happy with this. His attitude changed, which is visible from his face, he definitely surrendered, and he is now a prisoner of castle (((WH))). As a paradox, he might become worse than Hussein and W together. What a fucking set-up!

Same shit in EU, as expected changes will almost for sure fail. Wilders lost, Le-Pen has no chance to win, Germans are puppies, and Swedes are already gone, while thousands of fresh African vermin are purring thru Italy in Europe. It seems as the game is really over.

  6. Hang tight with our Glorious Trumpenfuhrer. Remember, he has the entire foreign world arrayed against him not mention over half of the U.S. population (geeks, pricks, and other assorted a**holes). We can not be fair-weather friends.

    • Truth hammer, Australia and the UK are running dogs of the USA (as Mao would say),. We are with the USA at all times and with all actions, whether the voters like it or not. Oz and UK troops always fight and die in US entanglements as in Afghanistan. Tony Blair was a good example, as are the current PMs of those two countries.
LBJ visited Australia about 1967. The PM said “All the way with LBJ’,
In NSW anti Vietnam War protestors laid down in front of the convoy. The leader of NSW, Robert Askin, ordered “Run over the bastards”. (His unlawful orders were not obeyed).

This same PM disappeared soon after while scuba diving alone – his bodyguard was on the beach. It was rumored by wags that the Chinese picked him up via submarine.
