Trump wants to build 30-foot-high wall at Mexican border

Make the Mexicans pay for the wall in gold!

Bring in the Israelis as consultants. I’ve heard that the Jews over there know something about building walls.

You can bet there will be lawsuits and that liberal judges will block construction of the wall, at least temporarily. They’re determined to turn America nonwhite. Impeach them.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website further detailing President Donald Trump’s promise to build a “big, beautiful wall” at the Mexican border.

The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29.

One of the CBP contract requests calls for a solid concrete wall, while the other asks for proposals for a see-through structure. Both require the wall to sunk at least six feet into the ground and include 25- and 50-foot automated gates for pedestrians and vehicles. The proposed wall must also be built in a such a way that it would take at least an hour to cut through it with a “sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools.”

The government will award a contract based on 30-foot-wide sample walls that are to be built in San Diego.

This is the latest step in the Trump administration plan to build a border wall. Last month CBP put out a call for “concept papers” to design and build prototypes by March 10.

Trump has bragged in recent days that the wall is ahead of schedule, though it’s unclear from the latest contract notices if any firms have submitted wall proposals or if any such submissions have been rejected.

The government has not said where the wall will be built, though the contract notices suggest some pieces of a new wall could replace existing fencing that stretches over about 700 miles of the roughly 2,000-mile border. The current fencing of mixed construction, including 15-foot steel posts set inches apart that are designed to keep people from crossing and shorter posts that are intended to block cars. Border Patrol agents are constantly repairing holes in the structure.

Trump has long promised that Mexico would pay for the wall, which he has said is necessary to stop the flow of immigrants crossing the border illegally and drug smugglers.

This week the president sent a budget proposal to Congress that included a $2.6 billion down payment for the wall. The total cost for the project is unclear, but the Government Accountability Office estimates it would cost about $6.5 million a mile for fence to keep pedestrians from crossing the border and about $1.8 million a mile for a vehicle barrier.

Congressional Republicans have said Trump’s wall would cost between $12 billion and $15 billion and Trump has suggested $12 billion.

An internal report prepared for Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly estimated the cost of building a wall along the entire U.S.-Mexico border at about $21 billion, according to a U.S. government official who is involved in border issues. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the report has not been made public.

The plan lays out what it would take to seal the border in three phases of construction of fences and walls covering just over 1,250 miles (2,000 km) by the end of 2020.

With 654 miles (1,046 km) of the border already fortified, the new construction would extend almost the length of the entire border.

The report said the first phase would be the smallest, targeting sections covering 26 miles (42 km) near San Diego, California; El Paso, Texas; and in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley.

The second phase of construction proposed in the report would cover 151 miles (242 km) of border in and around the Rio Grande Valley; Laredo, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; El Paso, Texas and Big Bend, Texas. The third phase would cover an unspecified 1,080 miles (1,728 km), essentially sealing off the entire U.S.-Mexico border.

  1. “Thirty feet high.” Not high enough!

“six feet into the ground.” Not deep enough.

“take at least an hour to cut through.” Only one hour? Come on! That will not deter Mexicans or anyone else! Prisoners work for days to escape.

Wall should be at least 40 – 50 feet high, 25 feet deep into the ground, thick and strong enough to withstand a bomb. The side to Mexico should be electrified so anyone trying would be burned to a crisp. And if by chance the electricity would go out, broken glass on top or anything that would rip anyone to shreds trying to scale it. Let the word out to everyone even thinking of trying to go over it. Maybe a few photos of those who tried looking like a fried nothingburger.

  2. Agree w/wullfe that 30 feet high & only 6 feet below do not sound like enough; nor the 1-hour deal.

@mitchellvii has some great tweets tonight re Fascism.

And this funny from the other day, lol:

  3. For labor costs to build the Wall, round up the illegals & make them build it, like a chain gang highly supervised with rifles, before deporting them. Wall Labor Cost = Zero.

      • 🙂 Grin. Thank You!

When I think of chain gangs, I always think of the “Cool Hand Luke” movie. The guards standing around watching the gang do the hard work had rifles.

(Famous “Southern drawl” line from the movie between warden & prisoner/Paul Newman: “What we have hee-ah is a fail-yah to communicate.”)

Let the illegals pour the glass shards above & below the wall, etc. Then they can go home & tell all their buddies, “Good luck getting through all that without a scratch!”

Couldn’t they put steel mesh in the concrete to prevent chiseling/cutting through it?

How could anyone bring/use electrical drilling tools to cut through steel unless there was an electrical outlet nearby? Would they bring a generator (lol), or somehow provide juice via a car’s engine, etc.?

      • It’s easy to turn a car into a generator

The height/ depth is probably enough as the wall area will be monitored electronically & physically

  4. Just saw this, President Trump’s 3/16/17 letter to Speaker Ryan briefly outlining the budget, which includes a bit about the wall; but also mentions needing more illegals containment facilities:

Wasn’t it during the GWB era that big “camps” were supposedly being built for major roundups of people? Supposedly during Katrina big groups were taken to some of those camps with some people supposedly never seen again. Probably “conspiracy theory,” but I remember reading descriptions of such a place by people who were supposedly there.

Point being, if those & other “FEMA Camps” stories were ever even remotely true, then why not use those places to temporarily hold illegals vs. building new ones(?) Recycle! 🙂

  5. I was just reminded that Cheney’s Halliburton/KBR was supposedly given the contract to build those camps. I wonder if they ever really did?

Numerous photos are at google images of spooky camps, some putting Whitey in those camps since that was supposedly the purpose for them, to round up Patriot Joe American & other such “domestic terrorists.”

  6. No walls are breach proof, the idea is the barrier buys you time to react. Remember defense is done in layers, to delay the invader and to channel them into the areas of your choosing, in this case probaly into the more extreme desert areas. Natural barriers like deserts and mountains are walls of a different sort.

What I have seen lately is the fence/ wall combo. Ex, a tall chain link fence on the Mexico side, a two lane, improved dirt road for vehicle and foot patrols, often raaked to help detect footprints, then a more serious wall. Which is where the various electronics and guard towers will be.

I imagine behind the hard wall will be the various teams to do interdiction and quick reaction, plus the continued air patrols

However the wall will be more symbolic then anything else. What will really stem the invasion is removing the incentives to invade White nations. Deny the invaders health care and social services and fewer will come. Shut down the business and massively fine employers who hire illegals will shut down the jobs for the invaders

Doing those things will have and is having a far larger impact on the taco bender invasion then the wall itself

    • Thank you, SFC Ton, for explaining the likely strategy of the Wall designs & their purposes.

I agree with you, an “economic wall” would be very easy & near costless to implement.

      • lol no worries and remember, as always it’s my semi educated guess. I don’t have any sort of insider knowledge but I have a rough idea how these things are done

  7. Compliments of Ronald Reagan …

It took my rusty brain a bit to remember what his version was called > >

“REX 84” prison camps supposedly for illegals. This info was dated 4/23/1984:

    REX 84
But these sources say “Rex 84” has another, even more closely guarded and carefully orchestrated objective: To apply so-called “C&C” (“capture and custody”) measures against political opponents, resisters or even outspoken critics whom the administration considers “dangerous.”
Full story at this link … original sources were The Spotlight & Christian Inquirer:

It includes a quote by old-time reporter Carl Rowan who heard about REX 84 & supposedly wrote to Reagan, “Mr. President, This is NOT Russia.”

If these camps are true, then it’s obvious they cross over party lines, from Repub Reagan to Dem Clinton to Repubs Bush & Cheney, etc.

If you’ve ever seen Alex Jones’ “Police State” series of documentaries (circa mid-2000’s), whew, really spooky.

  8. I just had a thought. If you remember the movie “300” , the Spartans built that wall at Thermopylae using large stones and then using the dead Persian soldier’s bodies (they killed in their first battles) as mortar between the stones. We have plenty of illegal aliens we could utilize this way. It would deter the Mexicans from grafittiing the wall portion facing Mexico. The only drawback would be the smell and flies, at least until the bodies decomposed completely. I will email this suggestion to our Trumpenfuhrer’s administration.
