Insane McCain: Rand Paul is Working for Vladimir Putin

I’m liking Rand Paul more and more for standing up to war mongers and to RINO Paul Ryan.

Rand is a man of peace.

That will get you slandered by John “Songbird” McCain every time.

Updated with statement from Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.

Sen. John McCain accused fellow Republican Sen. Rand Paul of “working for Vladimir Putin” on Wednesday.

The fireworks came as McCain spoke in support of a Senate unanimous consent request in support of Montenegro’s bid to join NATO. The libertarian-leaning Paul, who has often advocated for a less interventionist foreign policy, opposes the resolution.

“You are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin…trying to dismember this small country which has already been the subject of an attempted coup,” McCain said, in an apparent reference to Paul.

McCain then asked that the resolution be passed unanimously, prompting an objection from Paul who then exited the room. McCain then reiterated his accusation.

“I note the senator from Kentucky leaving the floor without justification or any rationale for the action he has just taken. That is really remarkable — that a senator blocking a treaty that is supported by the overwhelming number, perhaps 98 at least of his colleagues, would come to the floor and object and walk away…The only conclusion you can draw when he walks away is he has no argument to be made.

He has no justification for his objection to having a small nation be part of NATO that is under assault from the Russians. So, I repeat again, the senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin.”

Later Wednesday evening, in a statement to CBS News’ Alan He, Paul argued that U.S. resources are being stretched by multiple commitments.

“Currently, the United States has troops in dozens of countries and is actively fighting in Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Yemen (with the occasional drone strike in Pakistan),” Paul wrote. “In addition, the United States is pledged to defend 28 countries in NATO. It is unwise to expand the monetary and military obligations of the United States given the burden of our $20 trillion debt.”

McCain and Paul have battled over foreign policy issues in the past. In a February interview with ABC News, for example, Paul said that McCain has “advocated for war everywhere” and that the U.S. would “be in perpetual war” if McCain were “in charge.”

McCain just admitted that 98 percent of Senators are either fools, knaves, or both.

If you’re a politician, stand up and be counted against World War III, the war that will kill all life on earth.

Neocons are insane. McCain just proved it.

  2. Well, this should be treated as a national emergency. A member of the Senate is either engaging in blatant treason, or falsely accusing one of his colleagues of treason.

One of them absolutely must be expelled. I look forward to seeing Mr. McCain’s evidence. Has he announced when he’ll be releasing it yet?

  3. In the meantime, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, etc should withhold consent on all other matters before the Senate until we resolve this terrifying and deadly serious allegation from John McCain. There should be an up or down vote on expulsion before any other business can go forward.

  4. When will the USA cease military shenanigans? Rand Paul is right. The USA will be destroyed by these excessive military commitments. Russia is not the only country that the USA must/might fight. To be honest I think China wants to fight the USA in a conventional war in the Chinese region, and I think China will win. It has happened before in Korea, when the Chinese kicked US arse with a sudden attack to help their North Korean chums. MacArthur wanted to use nuclear bombs on Chinese troops. China briefly invaded Vietnam in 1979 with great success.
The USA really thinks that only the USA knows anything about warfare, and that technology will always win. Technology often does not help as in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Very often USA missiles and bombs are more valuable than the targets they hit. How can the USA win wars with such economics at play?
The era of US hegemony is fast nearing its end.

    • I guess George Washington was working for Vladimir Putin too when he warned America to avoid entangling alliances. That now seems to be the go-to accusation for anything somebody doesn’t like. I hereby charge Planned Parenthood with working for Vladimir Putin. I think gun control advocates are working for Putin, as is Lindsey Graham. We don’t need proof for any accusation.

      Except Trump’s wiretapping claim.
