The lowlife sewer rats who hate Donald Trump because he represents us have set about desecrating one of the most poignant moments in recent presidential history.
When Barack Obama tried to pull off the “concerned president” act, it fell flat because he had no idea what to say without his teleprompter. You can tell Trump’s words were heartfelt.
First, the story as reported by NBC, then we’ll take a look at the lowlife effort to downplay or distort this moment. You should watch the video first, if you didn’t watch Trump’s presidential address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.
In an emotional moment, President Donald Trump and Congress on Tuesday honored the wife of the first military service member killed in combat during the president’s administration.
While speaking about the need to increase funding for veterans during his joint address to Congress, Trump took a moment to pay tribute to his guest, the wife of slain Navy SEAL William Owens. Owens was killed in a raid on Yemen on Jan. 25, five days into the new administration.
“We are blessed to be joined tonight by Carryn Owens, the widow of a U.S. Navy Special Operator, Senior Chief William ‘Ryan’ Owens,” Trump said. “Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero — battling against terrorism and securing our nation.”
Trump said Owens’ “legacy is etched into eternity.”
Looking at Carryn, the president joked that Ryan Owens would be very happy with the applause — the longest of the night — “because I think he just broke a record.”
All those present in the Capitol stood and clapped while Owens’ widow cried, clasped her hands and looked toward the heavens — mouthing the words “thank you” — in a poignant moment. Trump had previously met Carryn, who was seated next to Ivanka Trump, when he attended the arrival of her husband’s casket at the airport.
Not in attendance at the speech was Owens’ father, William, who has said the raid was unnecessary and needs to be investigated by Congress. William refused to meet Trump when the president met his son’s casket.
During the speech, Trump refuted critics of the mission.
“I just spoke to (Defense Secretary) General Mattis — just now — who reconfirmed that, and I quote, ‘Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies,'” Trump said.
Though the firefight led to the death of Owens and a number of local children, numerous Pentagon officials told NBC News that the raid bore no significant intelligence.
During an interview on “Fox and Friends” earlier Tuesday, Trump sidestepped any blame for Owens death, stating that the plan for the raid was made by military officials before he took the oath of office.
In a significant omission, NBC (Nothing But Crap, as Mark Dice says), this was left out:
“Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity,” Trump said. Turning towards Owens’ widow, the president said: “Thank you.”
“For as the Bible teaches us, there is no greater act of love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends,” the president said. “Ryan laid down his life for his friends, for his country, and for our freedom — we will never forget him.”
NBC must have something against the Bible.
Now for the sewer rats. Slate’s headline describes Trump’s tribute as “crassly manipulative.” That’s what I call a smear job.
Breitbart looked at the celebrity response.
Celebrities such as Bill Maher and Michael Moore took the opportunity to criticize the president, with Maher saying he “wished [Owens] hadn’t allowed herself to be used as his prop like that,” while filmmaker Michael Moore claimed it was “a sort of a f you to the people who are criticizing Trump.”
Furthermore, left-wing Twitter users took the opportunity to attack Trump and the grieving widow, seeking to gain political points against Donald Trump in the process.
One twitter user, Dan Grilo, who revealed on his account he was a volunteer for Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign, said that “Sorry, Owen’s wife, you’re not helping yourself or your husband’s memory standing there and clapping like an idiot. Trump just used you.” He has since deleted his account.
Twicy reports that top Democrats refused to stand, but sat stone faced during the tribute.
Finally, fat, disgusting slob Michael Moore deserves to be singled out for his contempt for decent people. Breitbart devoted a whole article to the pig.
Moore said, “Ryan Owens, his death came as a result of a dinner Trump had with his son-in-law and a political hack. … And then the reporting here on NBC News, and other networks and papers, of how the intelligence community said we got nothing out of this. … But then why tonight to say, oh, we got all this treasure trove.”
He added that Carryn Owens was there “as a sort of a f you to the people who are criticizing him for this. And this poor woman, this widow, who has lost her husband. She is in desperate grief right now, and in love with her husband, and to use that as — [to] put another notch on his belt and what’s he thinking about? My ratings. Record applause. I’m going to get an Emmy for this, most applause for a dead soldier on my watch. I mean, this is the sickness of this man.”
Michael Moore has some nerve calling out any other human being as sick, unless it would be one of his liberal Hollyweird pals. He’s clearly projecting his own character on to President Trump.
Michael Moore is garbage. He’s nothing to me.
