USA Today: Whites Killed MLK, Now We Honor Him

USA Today published a Martin Luther King Day column in which the writer tried his best to make all white people feel guilty for the death of the liberals black saint.

I don’t remember whites being given the chance to vote on killing MLK, although if whites had been given such a vote, I’m sure that many would have gone thumbs up, while others would have turned a thumb down to it. When James Earl Ray (or whoever) killed King, he had already pissed off many of his earlier supporters by his antiwar stance. He was pretty well marginalized by 1968, so there was no really good reason for anyone with any sense to want him dead.

Whites did not kill King. While I can’t speak for other whites, I can say that no one I know honors him either. But a white liberal writer isn’t satisfied with the Day St. King has been given. He wants us to feel bad too.

USA Today

My dad called Martin Luther King an “agitator.” I bet a lot of white dads did. Seems like every time Dr. King showed up somewhere, things got torn up or burned up.

So we killed him. Not me, of course. I’m not a racist. But who thinks he is?

A pretty strong case can be made that LBJ or other elements in the U.S. government killed KIng for his opposition to the Vietnam war. James Earl Ray, like Lee Harvey Oswald, was just a patsy.

In any case, “whites” did not kill him, no matter what the liberal preacher who wrote this article says.

We have a Negro problem in America. As you read the rest of this nonsense, don’t expect the author to even mention it. Negros are the perpetual victims, you see.

So we tried to fix it. Made his birthday a national holiday. Put him on a pedestal. Where we can honor him. And he can’t poke us in the eye.

Plus, now we’ve squared everything. The Civil Rights Act. The Voting Rights Act. Come on, we’ve even elected a black president! That’s why people who look like me have a hard time understanding why so many black people are still angry while others have given up on America altogether.

I’ll let Ta-Nehisi Coates boil it down for you. White society was not achieved through “wine tastings and ice cream socials, but rather through the pillaging of life, liberty, labor and land.” In short, through three centuries of kidnapping, torture, murder and rape. Broken teeth, broken bones and broken spirits. Families ripped apart. Children taken from their parents. Men humiliated in front of their wives. Women brutalized within earshot of their husbands. Lash after bloody lash on bare backs. Then, sleep on a bare wooden floor. No doctor, no dentist, no nothing. Just non-stop misery with a few hymns on Sunday.

We built an entire society on these bruised and broken backs. That and countless Native Americans driven off their land. Then, after the house of horrors fell, and the sin was purged by the blood of more than a half-million young mostly white men, white America still did not relent. Despite passage of the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution, states found ways to disenfranchise blacks. We took back the vote, cordoned blacks off in the most undesirable parts of our cities, forced them into inferior schools and denied them opportunities. Few blacks owned their homes. Many could not read and write. Thousands were lynched. That’s Southern for murdered without a trial. Imagine if that’s what black men had done to Robert De Niro or David Bowie for marrying black women.

Now women need to seek those combat jobs: Column
When the Supreme Court — at the goading of America’s greatest black lawyer — finally struck down “separate but equal,” we dragged our feet for up to 10 years in some states before we would integrate our schools. Even then, thousands of white parents simply placed their children in private schools. Later, when progressive whites were able to enact some modest corrective measures to offset centuries of state-sponsored terrorism, a Supreme Court — composed of eight privileged whites and only one African American — struck them down as reverse discrimination. Checkmate. It is as if after cheating for seven innings and being caught in the eighth, the umpire could make no adjustment to the score because that would not be fair.

Now comes a phone call. I have been asked to speak at a Martin Luther King Day event. Me, a white preacher, speaking to a predominantly black audience filled with gifted preachers.

Well, here’s the message. No white person understands the black experience. Not Bill Clinton. Not Bernie Sanders. Not me. Not anybody. We can’t understand the black experience any more than I can understand how it feels to be a woman.

Where does this leave us? Are whites and blacks condemned to live only parallel lives with a great chasm forever separating us? Not necessarily. White people could rise to the occasion. We could perform the first and more fundamental act of love.

We could listen.

Or maybe we could not listen. We’ve been listening for 50 years. It’s the same old sh*t over and over. Enough. King is buried. Let him stay buried.

  1. Tell the truth I was very busy yesterday and didn’t give him any thought. As far as for killing him, I was 10 years old and had no idea who he was. I remember being ticked off because the news ran and interrupted afternoon cartoons.

  2. WHY?
    Martin Luther King Tapes

    Sealed Until: 2027

Fearing that Martin Luther King Jr. had ties to Communist organizations, the FBI spied on him for several years. The FBI described King as “the most dangerous and effective Negro leader in the country”. FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover filed a request with Attorney General Robert Kennedy to wiretap King and his associates. Kennedy gave the Bureau permission and tapped their phones and placed hidden microphones in homes, hotel rooms and offices. The FBI was unsuccessful in proving that he had ties to Communists; however they did have something that would reveal embarrassing details about King’s sex life. King refused to give in to the FBI’s threats, even after the FBI drafted a letter to him from an anonymous source detailing everything they knew about his sexual transgressions. Highlights of the letter include: “You are a colossal fraud and an evil, vicious one at that.” “The American public will know you for what you are, an evil, abnormal beast, and Satan could not do more” “King, there is only one thing left for you to do.” Some have theorized the intent of the letter was to drive King to commit suicide in order to avoid personal embarrassment. On January 31, 1977, district Judge John Lewis Smith, Jr., ordered all known copies of recorded audiotapes and written transcripts resulting from the FBI’s surveillance of King between 1963 and 1968 to be sealed in the National Archives and away from public access for 50 years.

Interesting Fact: Ralph Abernathy was a close associate of King’s in the civil rights movement. In his autobiography titled “And the Walls Came Tumbling Down”, he does mention that King was a “womanizer”. He also wrote this about the Surveillance Tapes: “I remember in particular a stay at the Willard Hotel in Washington, where they not only put in audio receivers, but video equipment as well. Then, after collecting enough of this ‘evidence’ to be useful, they began to distribute it to reporters, law officers, and other people in a position to hurt us.” Finally, when no one would do Hoover’s dirty work for him, someone in the FBI put together a tape of highly intimate moments and sent them to Martin. Unfortunately — and perhaps this was deliberate — [his wife] Coretta received the tape and played it first. But such accusations never seemed to touch her. She rose above all the petty attempts to damage their marriage by refusing to even entertain such thoughts.

      • I can almost guarantee MLK was an agenteur. One of his dossiers was to get as many middle class suburban Whites to sympathize with the Civil Rights Movement. Once he got that ball rolling, his Comintern handlers pushed his button. The added bonus was martyrdom…

“Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney Introduces Legislation to House Government Reform Committee for Release of Martin Luther King Jr. Files
    Los Angeles, California, USA
    February 24, 2006”.

This ex Congresswoman is black and a former Democrat who was “Jewed” about 2008 to get her out of Congress. She tried to indite Bush and Cheney for 911 etc. No support in Congress, all voters could all see by the way Bush read the book to the black kids at school on 911 he had absolutely no advance idea the USA was about to be terrorised. Why can’t Bush and Cheney be waterboarded for the truth about 911, they both believe strongly in the merits of torture against suspected terrorists like themselves? Trump could authorize this. All the Neocons of 2001 also should be waterboarded.

This woman ran for the Greens in 2008 as President and got about 1 in 1000 votes. I guess US voters approve of Bush and Cheney and 911. She also was aboard two ships attempting to enter Gaza and one was rammed buy the Israelis, the other was seized by Israel.

There are 500 gutless wonders lurking, Netanyahu Stooges, in Capitol Hill and probably not one of those 500 will ever act as this woman did, with principle. She opposed the invasions of Iraq and Libya. Ron Paul might have been the last US politician with principle who was prepared to oppose the power of the (((Fed))).

The USA has the best Government shekels can buy.
