Jefferson was a planter, which is a bit different than a farmer. Washington was primarily a military man and secondarily a surveyor, although he did own a plantation. Both were very morally astute men but Washington did break his sworn oath to the King. The government they instituted was a disaster-in-waiting, i.e. they were the well intentioned but unknowing face of malicious schemers that have brought us to where we are today. They should be remembered in history as a tremendous mistake of optimism that should never be repeated. That is, if we manage to survive the tremendous mistake.
Btw, your coverage is great and I read it every day. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks for the compliment. I’m glad you get something out of these modest posts.
As to the Founding Fathers, look at the legacy: open borders, gay marriage, tens of millions of nonwhites, a federal budget out of control. The list is endless. The Constitution is flawed. If we ever struggle out of the current quicksand, we have to do better, like you suggest.

TJ procreated with black slaves. Sorry, no love for TJ here.
Not sure if it was him or his relative–a nephew I believe. You’re referring to Sally Hemmings for those not in the know.
