Ford today announces its intent to have a high-volume, fully autonomous SAE Level 4-capable vehicle in commercial operation in 2021 in a ride-hailing or ride-sharing service.

To get there, the company also is investing in or collaborating with four startups to enhance its autonomous vehicle development, doubling its Silicon Valley team and more than doubling its Palo Alto campus.

I wrote the following on youtube:

This is an effort by government to force everyone to have a national ID card so that we can be more easily monitored and controlled. The self-driving car gives us freedom that the power elites want to take away. Be wary. Furthermore, without knowing who you’re getting into a vehicle with, you run the risk of rape, robbery, and murder. Ride sharing only works when criminals are rare. Obama is releasing criminals from prison to break the “school to prison pipeline” among blacks. Ultimately, millions of feral thugs will be roaming the streets looking to victimize those in self-driving cars. Welcome to the dystopian future the science fiction writers warned us about.

  1. Your comment is not on Youtube, At any rate, maybe so, but they can usher in the chip et al, without this innovation and plenty of criminals are already attacking taxis, Uber riders and drivers and car jackings. This car isn’t going to make any difference. Besides, if you’re worried about that, just don’t use the service. Ride sharing has been going on for decades and there few problems with it.

We need to keep our eye on the big picture.
